Support Groups

 

Carers Groups meet regularly in a variety of venues providing opportunities to meet with others, sharing time and knowledge to improve your sense of wellbeing.

Carers Centre Support & Wellbeing Groups & Drop Ins

If you have not attended the group for some time or are coming along for the first time, please call us first to confirm details.

Dawley Carers Wellbeing Group: meeting fortnightly on Thursdays from 1pm-3pm at Dawley Town Hall, New Street, Dawley TF4 3JR. Lunch of soup and a roll will be provided.

Hadley Carers Group: on the second Thursday of the month at Castle Farm Community Centre, Hadley from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Contact Louise 01952 240209

Newport Coffee Morning: drop in every third Wednesday of the month at Newport Library between 10.30am–12.00noon. Contact Carers Centre on 01952 240209 or Newport Library on 01952 382965

Oakengates Carers Wellbeing Group: with the focus on your wellbeing as a carer, this group meets once a month on Wednesdays at the Wakes, Oakengates (opposite The Place) from 10.00am to 12.00 noon.

Madeley Wellbeing Group:  this group meets on the third Monday of the month at Court Street Medical Practice, Madeley from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Listening support from Telford Mind will also be available.

Shawbirch Carers Wellbeing Group: with the focus on your wellbeing as a carer, helping you to be happier and healthier. Starting on Wednesday 5th September at the Woolpack, Acorn Way, Shawbirch TF2 0LW from 2.00pm to 3.30pm. Meeting on the first Wednesday of the month.

Knit & Natter: a friendly group meeting to do craft work and exchange ideas on crafts e.g. knitting, crochet, sewing, beading, etc. Pop in for as long as you wish, weekly on Thursdays from 1.30pm-3.30pm at the Glebe Centre, Glebe Street, Wellington TF1 1JP.

Young Adult Carers: Our Inbetweeners group is for Young Adult Carers who are aged between 18 and 25. We meet up once a month to give you chance to socialise with other carers of a similar age, make new friendships and have some time out from your caring responsibilities. Other Support Groups & Drop Ins

Other organisations also run support groups and meetings in the local area for carers.

Alzheimer’s Support Group: run by carers or ex-carers to give support to carers of someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia On the third Tuesday of each month at the Glebe Centre, Glebe Street, Wellington from 1.30pm to 3pm.
